The Ripped Abs Over 40 Program

I created Ripped Abs Over 40 to help men over 40 lose fat rapidly and even reveal their abs if that’s what their goal is.

The key for getting and staying lean over 40 years old is to take charge of your hormonal system and maximize it’s fat burning potential through the following:

Lifting weights

Lifting weights is key when trying to get lean, the more muscle you have the more calories you’ll burn at rest.

By lifting weights using compound exercises you’ll create the biggest impact on the male hormonal system, increasing testosterone production.

That’s why compound movements are at the core of Ripped Abs Over 40 because they provide the greatest benefits and give so much in return for such a small investment in time.

By using the safest and most productive compound movements you’ll build just the right amount of muscle that gives broad shoulders, defined chest and narrow waist without the bulk.

You’ll also develop a good strength base well into your 40’s, 50’s and 60’s which is particularly important as we age.

Lifting weights too frequently is also a common mistake that men over 40 make, we need to pay special attention to our recovery as we age.

That’s why abbreviated training programs are used, you’ll never lift weights more than 2-3 times per week because as a natural man over 40 that’s not only the most productive but the most that your body can properly recover from.

Common advice for men once over 40 years old is to lift lighter weights for higher reps but this is a big mistake. Lighter weights do nothing for body composition or challenge the male hormonal system enough to make any impact to testosterone production.

Multiple sets of lower reps i.e. 4-8 reps per exercise is far safer and far more productive for men over 40, they have the most dramatic effect on body composition, keep the workouts short and demand much less of the body’s recovery machinery.

The weight training section of Ripped Abs Over 40 will have you covered. Once you’ve got the weight training portion covered, an effective cardio portion is also needed to keep you losing fat and get you leaner.


The mistake a lot of men over 40 makes is doing excessive amounts of cardio that strips away lean muscle, kills testosterone and ultimately makes the job of losing fat a lot harder than it needs to be.

But moderate amounts of cardio i.e. 1-2 times per week is what works best, couple that with weight training and a great nutrition plan and you’ll get lean for life.
